Senigallia 60 years of A.R.I.
Section A.R.I. Senigallia celebrated 60 years of Amateur Radio Association of Italian in our city. Saturday, September 10, 2011 there was a debate among the technical and historical media library of the Library Antonelliana. The images of the event and the collection of documents of the meeting are available for download.

AD9850 Module DDS Signal Generator
The continued demand for technological devices getting smaller port as a result a high price that the investigator has to pay in terms of the difficulty of finding and assembling. Devices DDS (Direct Digital Synthesizer) are no exception. One of the simplest and most cost devices from Analog Devices, AD9850 , looks like a small chip for surface mounting, with two rows of 14 pins. The distance between two legs is less than a millimeter , exactly 0.65 mm . This fact makes us understand how to use such a device is essential to a printed circuit board . But not enough! The feet are so close together that the weld is difficult. All these problems are overcome using the demo board AD9850 Module DDS Signal Generator . The board is already done, all the components are soldered missing only our imagination to invent applications.
A search on the net shows a lot of sources that provide the module in question at prices more diverse. Personally I turned Arduiner , where I found speed, availability and courtesy.

Evening Digital Communications
On the evening of November 22, 2013, at the headquarters of ARI Senigallia, there was a technical meeting on Digital Communications.
IK6ZDE, Fabrizio, in a comprehensive overview illustrated the digital modes currently in use, the most common programs currently used, the salient features of said programs, emphasizing their capabilities and limitations.
I, I6DVX, presented an example of the interfaces between the more classical used today, thinking, for the occasion, a re-engineering of what the market offers.
Finally IK6PTH, Lorenzo, told us about the CW, certainly the first digital communication way, showing all its vitality and its value. Today it's no longer required to take the telegraphy exam for obtaining the license of radio operator, but Lorenzo has revived the desire of drawing closer to the CW.
The evening, which saw the participation of many friends, not only from Senigallia, ended with the purpose of deepening the covered topics . About CW, Lorenzo is available to organize a course for new OM and for the 'old' who want to revive the way we communicate. Fabrizio has taken on the task of organizing a second evening with practical demonstrations of digital communications.
As for me, I make available for download the materials relating the presentation, the interface schematic and its PCB.

The title, provocative, connecting to a successful television series broadcast in Italy by Sky. Translation, more or less literal, is tantamount to destroying myths. The opportunity to emulate the team of Myth Buster came when, in an attempt to infect with the virus grandson of radio and electronics in general, I decided to build with him a crystal radio.
I6DVX ended his trasmission from this Earth on the 22nd of October 2017 .
